We applaud Gov. Greg Abbott for directing agencies to remove barriers to success for businesses and entrepreneurs, so Texas can remain the best state in the nation to live, work, and do business.

In his letter to agency heads this week, Gov. Abbott asked them to work with the Office of Small Business Assistance to identify and recommend for elimination rules, fees, and regulations that hinder the formation, operation, and growth of small businesses. These recommendations will be reviewed by the new Governor's Small Business Freedom Council, enhancing collaboration with the Texas business community and strengthening the process with Council members' expertise. This is an excellent step toward easing unnecessary or inefficient regulations on professionals and businesses.

We look forward to partnering with the Governor and other state leaders during the upcoming legislative session to create a transparent, efficient, and best-in-the-nation regulatory model for Texas, where all rules are reviewed on a regular basis through an objective process.
